Amid Refugee Scam Controversy, Khand Named NC’s Top Candidate for Rupandehi-3

Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader, Balkrishna Khand, has been recommended as the first choice candidate for the House of Representatives election from Rupandehi-3.
Khand was defeated in this constituency in the 2079 BS House of Representatives election by the late Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader, Deepak Bohara.
He was arrested on Baisakh 27, 2080 BS on charges of involvement in the scheme to send Nepalis abroad as fake Bhutanese refugees. He spent seven months in jail before being released on bail on Mangsir 29, 2080 BS
