Final Rites of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Held in Baramati Following Plane Crash
The funeral of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who passed away in a plane crash on Wednesday, was held today, Thursday. Five people, including Pawar, lost their lives when a private chartered plane crashed at Baramati Airport in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning.
According to Indian media reports, the final rites for Pawar, who was also the President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), were performed at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati.
Pawar's sons, Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar, lit the funeral pyre. A large number of politicians, ministers, and members of the public attended the funeral.
Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar's wife and a Rajya Sabha MP, paid tribute to her husband. Following this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other leaders expressed their condolences and paid their respects.
