A New Political Force: The Rise of a Unified Alternative Power in Nepal
The Nepali political landscape is currently in an uproar after three powerful leaders, who emerged as new and alternative centers of power, stood together on the same platform. The Nepali proverb, "Everyone has their day," has truly been personified.
Three new political forces, which organized and rose against the administrative mismanagement of the old political parties, have now merged.
Following the merger of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah's group with the Rabi Lamichhane-led Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the Ujyaalo Nepal Party—involving Kulman Ghising—also joined the unification process on Monday. With this, the RSP has moved forward as the most formidable force.
With the merger between RSP and the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, the voices raised against the old establishment have now largely organized into a single entity.
The Bibeksheel Sajha Party had already merged with the RSP previously. Now, with the arrival of Balen and Kulman, the RSP has become significantly stronger.
