Teej Milan Program Held in Pathari Shanishchare

Pathari — A vibrant Teej Milan program was organized in Pathari Shanishchare–8 by the Mangalabare Youth Group on the occasion of Haritalika Teej.

The event, dedicated to the great festival of Hindu women, brought together women from the Tharu, Uraw, and Dhimal communities, who celebrated by performing their traditional dances in cultural attire, highlighting their distinct customs and heritage. The program also included a Dar (festive feast), shared among women from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds, fostering unity and harmony.

The inauguration was marked by a Dhimal cultural dance, followed by performances from the Uraw and Tharu communities, adding charm and vibrancy to the event. Chief guest Jay Bahadur Tamang emphasized that such events play a vital role in preserving and promoting fading community cultures.

Participation came from Dhimal Petani Women’s Group of Pathari Shanishchare–6, Uraw Utthan Manch, and Tharu Kalyankari Society. Alongside cultural showcases, the event featured engaging competitions such as magical cheers, handicraft displays, and a “handi for” contest.

The program was graced by the chief hospitality of former ward chairperson and Managing Director of Purwanchal Multiple Agriculture Pvt. Ltd., Jay Bahadur Tamang. It was conducted by Kamal Bahadur Katuwal and managed by journalists Ram Kumar Pariyar, Shyam Bahadur Limbu, and Ram Kumar Chaudhary.
