Police Chief Urges Officers to Serve Public Interests and Maintain Peace
Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, has instructed police personnel to improve their work culture by focusing on the needs and feelings of the citizens.
Speaking at a ceremony in Kathmandu on Tuesday for the handover of the rebuilt Koteshwor Police Circle and Traffic Police buildings, he emphasized that officers must respect the public and develop a habit of working in line with their expectations.
He specifically urged all ranks of the police force to refine their professional practices to better serve the community.
Additionally, the Inspector General spoke about the need for citizens to change how they express dissatisfaction. He noted that people should move away from violent protests, such as stone-throwing or damaging property, to voice their concerns.
He stated that instead of being seen as people who destroy their own history and infrastructure, Nepalis should be recognized globally as peace-loving, development-oriented, and law-abiding citizens who value the rule of law.
