PM Oli Expresses Commitment to Workers, Announces Increase in Minimum Wage
Kathmandu, July 18 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the importance of labor and respect for workers, stating that “progress is not possible without labor, and prosperity is not possible without respect for workers.”
Through a social media post, the Prime Minister announced that the government has decided to raise the minimum monthly wage for workers from NPR 17,300 to NPR 19,550, effective from the 1st of Shrawan (July 17).
He also highlighted the government's earlier step of implementing the contribution-based Social Security Scheme, which has already included around 2.1 million workers, aiming to ensure a secure future for the workforce.
"A handful of trust means a lot to workers," PM Oli remarked, expressing the government's commitment to worker welfare.
"Long live workers, Long live Nepal!" he concluded.
