UK and Hong Kong Screening Rights for 'Pension Patta' Sold at a High Price

The international screening rights for the movie 'Pension Patta', directed by senior actor Maotse Gurung, have started selling. The movie, scheduled for release on the occasion of Haritalika Teej on Bhadra 26, has sold its UK and Hong Kong screening rights at a high price.

Writer and director Maotse Gurung stated that the sale of the international screening rights even before the release of any promotional material has brought great encouragement. Sapan Entertainment Limited has acquired the release rights for the UK, while Main Dragon Limited has secured the rights for Hong Kong.

Director Gurung informed that offers to buy the release rights have also come from several other countries and are in the process of being finalized soon. Director Maotse Gurung, who is known as the 'godfather' of Gurung cinema, has also invested in 'Pension Patta'.

The movie stars actors including Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Pashupati Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sole Gurung, Raj Thapa Kaucha, Manoj Gurung, Anusha Rai, Luniva Tuladhar, Bishwas Gurung, Maya Gurung, Yasili Limbu, Kubina Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, DB Gurung, and Pratikshya Gurung. Bishwas and Maya are making their debut in the Nepali silver screen with this movie.

Produced under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, the story of the movie is also written by director Gurung himself. Director and producer Gurung shares that although the title makes it sound like a story about a former Lahure (British/Indian Army soldier), the movie shows how a greedy boy transforms into a generous person.

Min Konme Gurung (UK), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), Maya Gurung (Hong Kong), and Sapana Gurung are the investors in the movie, with DB Gurung serving as the production manager. Shot by Susan Prajapati, the movie features Suraj Tamu as the casting director and Manoj Thapa Magar, Shiva Baraili, and Surung Gurung as the music composers.

The movie, currently being edited by Kiar Koich, has Taranath Neupane as the chief assistant director. Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha's RR Films will distribute the movie nationwide.
