Nepal’s Export Trade Increases by 58.17 Percent in Five Months
KATHMANDU. Nepal's export trade has been found to have increased by 58.17 percent in the last five months. According to the import and export statistics for the first five months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2082/83 released by the Department of Customs on Monday, Nepal's export trade has increased compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
By the month of Mansir of the current FY, Nepal has exported goods worth more than Rs. 1 kharba 16 arba 50 crore 90 lakh. In the same period of the last FY, Nepal had exported goods worth only Rs. 73 arba 65 crore 97 lakh 71 thousand.
Similarly, there has also been an improvement in Nepal's import trade during this period. Until Mansir of the current FY, Nepal has imported goods worth Rs. 7 kharba 66 arba 18 crore 91 lakh.
In the same period of the last FY, Nepal had imported goods worth Rs. 6 kharba 61 arba 48 crore 85 lakh. This import is 15.83 percent higher compared to the last FY. According to the department, total foreign trade in the five months has increased by 20.07 percent to reach Rs. 8 kharba 82 arba 69 crore 82 lakh 29 thousand. In the same period of the last FY, the total foreign trade was Rs. 7 kharba 35 arba 14 crore 83 lakh 65 thousand.
Likewise, the trade deficit has increased by 10.52 percent to reach Rs. 6 kharba 46 arba 68 crore 1 lakh 56 thousand. The trade deficit in the same period of the last FY was Rs. 5 kharba 87 arba 82 crore 88 lakh 22 thousand.
