‘Munamadan Ko Breakup’ Announced: A New Love Story Set in Rural Nepal

Kathmandu — A new film titled ‘Munamadan Ko Breakup’ has been officially announced. Directed by Dipendra Lama, the film will feature a screenplay by Samipyaraj Timalsena and Shridhar Paudel as the executive producer.

Lama, Timalsena, and Paudel—who all come from a journalism background—are collaborating again after their 2018 film Gopi. So far, actor Raj Katwal is the only confirmed cast member. Katwal was last seen in the film Narsingha Avatar.

According to director Lama, discussions are ongoing regarding the remaining cast, and final decisions will be made in the coming days. “We chose Katwal because he suited the character in the script. Our plan is to select the rest of the cast in accordance with the story and characters,” Lama said. Having directed six films from his debut Ghampani to Dukhi Aatma, Lama aims to present Munamadan Ko Breakup as an entertaining film.

Screenwriter Timalsena shared that the film will depict a unique love story set in a rural setting. “This film will present a different flavor of romance compared to what we usually see in recent Nepali films,” he said. “It’s very challenging to draw audiences to theaters these days, so we’re going to put maximum effort into the script.”

Actor Katwal expressed his excitement about being part of Munamadan Ko Breakup. “Compared to my previous films, I’m working hard to appear more refined in this one,” Katwal shared, adding that the role is quite challenging for him.

Executive producer Paudel stated that the film will be shot in the rural areas of Kaski. “We’ll only begin filming after the script and pre-production are perfected. We’re committed to working patiently to deliver a quality product,” he said.
