Mugu's Talcha-Gamgadhi Road to be Paved After 13 Years
Mugu. Thirteen years after Mugu district was connected to the national road network, the Karnali Provincial Government has finally ensured a budget of 160 million rupees to pave the Talcha-Gamgadhi road.
According to the process of moving various district projects into multi-year contracts, the budget source for paving the road from Talcha to Gamgadhi has been secured under the multi-year plan allocated by the Karnali Province Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development for the fiscal year 2082/083.
According to the ministry's decision on Falgun 5, the necessary process has moved forward as per the Multi-year Contract Agreement Guidelines 2079. The budget for paving the nine-kilometer road from Talcha to Gamgadhi stands at 159.93 million rupees. The budget was ensured following the initiatives of Mugu's provincial assembly member and former minister Jit Bahadur Malla.
Member of the Karnali Provincial Government Jit Bahadur Malla stated that along with the budget for the Talcha-Gamgadhi paving, funds have also been secured for other projects, including the Likhwang Jipsing suspension bridge in Rukum, the Kamrekhola suspension bridge in Dolpa, the Panigairi suspension bridge construction in Rukum West, and the Dharikhola motorable bridge construction in Rukum West.
Even though Mugu district was connected to the national road network 13 years ago, passengers have been facing hardships due to smoke, dust, and mud. Kamal Bahadur Budha, president of the Mugu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that while the road is finally being paved, it must be completed according to quality standards and specifications.
