Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama Reaches Jaleshwor

Janakpur. The 15-day Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama is scheduled to reach Jaleshwor, the district headquarters of Mahottari, today.

The pilgrims participating in the parikrama, who set out from Girijasthan yesterday along with the holy palanquin (dola), rested at Matihani in Mahottari last night. They departed for Jaleshwor early this morning. As in previous years, special welcome preparations have been made for the pilgrims in Jaleshwor.

After resting in Jaleshwor tonight, the procession will reach Madai tomorrow, Saturday; Dhruvakunda on the 7th day (10th); Kanchanvan on the 8th day (11th); Parvata on the 9th day (12th); Dhanushadham on the 10th day (13th); Satoshar on the 11th day (14th); Aurahi on the 12th day (15th); Karuna on the 13th day (16th); and Bisaul on the 14th day (17th) before returning to Janakpurdham via Kalyaneshwor on the 15th day (18th).

Upon arriving in Janakpurdham on the final day, the Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama will conclude after the participants complete the Antagriha Parikrama (inner circuit).

Known as the "Mahakumbha of Mithila," participants in this religious journey cover a distance of approximately 133 kilometers, including 15 stopovers across Nepal and India over the 15-day period. The procession moves forward with overnight stays at 15 different locations in Nepal and India, drawing hundreds of thousands of devout pilgrims.
