‘Lalibazar’ in its Sixth Week: Diaspora Screenings to Begin from Denmark

Kathmandu. The Nepali film ‘Lalibazar’, which has been screening since Baisakh 25, has entered its sixth week of screening starting today. Compared to other Nepali films released so far in the year 2083 BS, ‘Lalibazar’ appears to be far ahead. 

Additionally, having already collected over 9 crores gross in the domestic market, the journey of ‘Lalibazar’ is moving toward the 10 crore club. The number of shows the film has secured in its sixth week ensures that its journey will reach 10 crores.

Produced under the Shatkon Arts banner, the diaspora screenings of the film ‘Lalibazar’ are set to begin in Denmark, Europe. According to producer Max Dipesh Khatri, the film will be screened in Copenhagen, Denmark, on the upcoming Asar 5, 6, and 7.

"After receiving love from the audience in Nepal, we were getting inquiries about when the overseas screenings would happen. Finally, we are starting the exhibition from Denmark, Europe. We are also finalizing schedules for screenings in other countries soon," said producer Khatri.

He informed that the film depicts the impact of the light of education on society, which has been well-liked by the audience. Shatkon Arts has previously produced successful films such as ‘Talakjung vs Tulke’, ‘Jatra’, ‘Jatrai Jatra’, ‘Mahapurush’, and ‘Mahajatra’.

The film stars Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Asha Paudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kathayat, Nischal Panthi, Birbal Chaudhary, Kuntal, and others. 

Bishal Devkota and Prasansha Subedi have made their debut through this film. Vishal is an artist working in theater, while Prasansha is popular as a Gen Z actress.

The film ‘Lalibazar’, prepared with the story and direction of director Yam Thapa, has its screenplay and dialogues jointly prepared by director Thapa and director Pradeep Bhattarai. Pradeep Bhattarai is the executive producer of the film, while Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya are the producers.
