Grand Premiere of Nepali Cinema 'Jor Dhunga' to be Held in Hong Kong
The Nepali feature film 'Jor Dhunga', written and directed by Yugal Pomo, is set to be screened in Hong Kong. Prior to its grand premiere in Hong Kong, the film's first-look poster was released during a program organized last Saturday, May 30.
During the event, it was announced that 'Jor Dhunga' will have its grand premiere on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Sanwim Cinema Hall in Hung Hom Whampoa, Hong Kong. Filmed in the scenic locations around Niguraden in Taplejung, 'Jor Dhunga' is produced against a Limbu background and features English subtitles along with local dialogues.
Under the banner of YK Films in collaboration with Genex Media and Shahasi Digital, the film is produced by Ramesh Limbu, Roman Lawati, and Yogesh Lama from Hong Kong, while Harry Yonjan, a resident of the USA, serves as the executive producer.
The film stars Pratik Thebe Limbu, Mausam Imbung (Phulendeko Bau), Pushpanjali Tilling, Yogesh Lama, Hardik Paudel, Siddhartha Limbu, Bishnu Rai, and Madankumari Pomu Limbu in lead roles. The film's songs and dialogues are written by Surendra Rana, and Anil Thopra serves as the production controller.
Edited by Anil Kumar Maharjan, the cinema was shot by Mohan Kumar Jhillu. The film also features production design by Dinesh Mangmu, art direction by Nischal Kulung, color grading by Rajendra Moktan, makeup by Janu Ale, and chief assistant direction by Maheshwar Sambahangphe.
