Trailer for Nepali Movie 'Jaand' Released

Kathmandu. The trailer for the movie 'Jaand' has been released. The trailer for the upcoming Nepali movie 'Jaand', which is scheduled to be screened across the country from the upcoming Asar 12, was released during a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday. While releasing the trailer, the production team stated that the film will give a powerful message against various evils and superstitions rooted in society. 

Directed by Raju Shah, the trailer of the movie 'Jaand' presents the stress and discord created in the family due to alcoholism and its negative impact on society as the main theme. The trailer realistically depicts the problems created in the family by the behavior of a person who consumes alcohol, as well as the perspective of the wife, daughter, and society towards such a person.

The movie not only addresses the rift brought into family relationships by alcohol addiction, but also questions the traditional mindset of 'a son is needed to continue the lineage' that still exists in Nepali society. The production side stated that the film keeps the problems seen in the family and society due to the obsession with a son and the discriminatory perspective towards daughters, along with the voice against it, at the center of the storyline.

Produced by Rajendra Bhatta, the movie features acting by artists including Sanbi Khatiwada, Padam Gurung, Kamala Dahal, Ramesh Upreti, Manju Shrestha, Subas Gajurel, Ramesh Adhikari, Laxmi Timilsena, Smarika Khanal, and Kiran Pratap KC. In the trailer, the artists have effectively presented emotional and social aspects through lifelike acting.

Produced under the banner of Sukuldhoka Media Pvt. Ltd., the story, screenplay, and dialogues of the movie were jointly prepared by Sunil Prasad Shrestha, Raju Shah, and Rajendra Bhatta. Sunil Prasad Shrestha and Rajendra Shah are the producers of the film. Shambhu Gautam is the chief assistant director, while Kishor Dangol and Narendra Kumar KC are in the roles of co-directors.

Cinematographed and edited by Dipen Basnyat, the movie features fight direction by Yogendra Shrestha. Sunil Prasad Shrestha has handled the responsibility of production controller. The movie includes lyrics by Shreepurush Dhakal, and music and vocals by Roshan Baluwa. Formed by keeping social reality, family emotions, and awareness messages at the center, 'Jaand' is expected to present a story of a different taste to the audience by raising issues such as the ill effects of alcoholism and gender discrimination. 

The production team stated that the released trailer is receiving positive responses from the audience. Deepak Dangal and National Cine Group Nepal are the distributors of the movie. The trailer of the movie was released through the OVA Digitaltainment YouTube channel.
