Music and Tourism Seminar and Hiking Program Concluded in Tangtin

Pokhara. The National Musicians and Hikers Club Nepal successfully organized a seminar on music and tourism on Kartik 28 and the 64th Hiking Program on Kartik 29.

The chief guest of the program, Central Member of the National Musicians' Association Nepal, Pramis Siwakoti, inaugurated the event, stating that music, culture, and tourism are complementary to each other. He expressed confidence that such programs would help promote local art, culture, and destinations.

He mentioned that a tourism area like Tangtin holds great potential through music and suggested that local levels in the federal structure should also pay special attention to cultural tourism.

The main attraction of the program was the Music-Tourism Seminar, where Prof. Dr. Kusumakar Neupane presented a paper titled "The Role of Music in the Development of Cultural Tourism."

He provided a detailed analysis of the relationship between music tradition, the preservation of folk culture, and tourism promotion, stating that such events would increase the interest of the younger generation in originality and identity.

On the occasion, the acting chairperson of Ward No. 2 of Madi Rural Municipality and coordinator of Tangtin Community Homestay, Purnashobha Gurung (Punam), and the principal of Himalaya Secondary School, Om Prakash Gurung, also spoke.

The program, held in the assembly hall of the Ward Office building in Madi Rural Municipality-2, saw the participation of officials and members of the Gandaki Province Committee of the National Musicians' Association, officials and members of the Hikers Club Nepal, and homestay operators. The media partners were Adarsha Samaj Dainik, Darbar News Dotcom, Naulo Khabar Dotcom, and Kaski Khabar Dotcom.

The program, jointly chaired by the Gandaki Province President of the Association, Ramchandra Dhakal, and the Club's President, Krishna Ranabhat, was moderated by the Association's Second Vice President, Sagar Karki.

Regarding the hiking program held on the second day, the President of Hikers Club Nepal, Krishna Ranabhat, stated that the participants focused on observing the natural beauty by exploring the selfie hill, waterfall, monasteries, and nearby scenic trails in Tangtin village.

The hiking program, which has been continuously organized on the last Saturday of every month for the past 7 years, involves participants bearing their own expenses to promote tourist villages. Prior to this, the Hikers Club had reached villages like Yanjakot, Sikles, and Thak in Madi Rural Municipality.
