Government Announces: Kidney Patients to Receive Up to NPR 850,000 in Medical Assistance

Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, through a social media post, announced a major health support program for kidney patients in Nepal. In a Facebook post from his official page, he stated that patients suffering from kidney-related illnesses will now receive up to NPR 850,000 in medical assistance.
According to the post, eligible Nepali citizens with kidney problems will be entitled to this financial support, provided that they are enrolled in the national health insurance program, which is mandatory to access the benefits.
In addition, patients suffering from cancer, heart disease, head injury, spinal injury, sickle cell anemia, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease will be eligible to receive up to NPR 100,000 in treatment support.
Prime Minister Oli wrote, “To be eligible for this support, one must be enrolled in the health insurance program.”
This initiative has been welcomed positively by the public, especially by those with chronic illnesses and financially challenged backgrounds, as it is expected to provide significant relief.
