Gen Z Announces Rebellion: Will Take to Streets from September 8
Kathmandu – Today, the Gen Z generation held a press conference in the capital, announcing that they will take to the streets from September 8 to protest against corruption and injustice. They vowed a decisive rebellion against the ruling class that has been indulging in plunder and extravagance for the past three decades.
At the press conference, the Gen Z representatives emotionally stated,
“Thousands of youths are returning from foreign lands in coffins, hundreds of parents remain childless, and in this country, where nothing happens without bribes, justice has died. The security agencies have become servants of the corrupt.”
They claimed that the rebellion is not just about changing the government, but transforming the entire political system. According to the statement, a system will be introduced where citizens can directly elect their government heads, public funds looted over three decades will be returned, and corrupt officials will face imprisonment.
Furthermore, they outlined plans to restructure universities, courts, diplomatic missions, and the civil service to align them with the public’s interests. They pledged to create an environment where capable, honest, and dedicated individuals can work without obstruction.
The primary goal of the rebellion is to focus the nation’s attention on development and rapid economic growth, aiming to position Nepal among the world’s advanced nations within a few decades.
At the end of the press conference, the Gen Z representatives called on all sections of society, saying,
“We will no longer stay silent! We will no longer be afraid! We will no longer bow down! We will rise! On Seotember 8, the people’s volcano will erupt on the streets.”
With this announcement, political activity in the capital has intensified. While leaders of traditional parties remain silent, this strong statement from the youth has sparked a new debate in the country’s political landscape.
