"From Revolution to Anarchy": Singer Jyoti Magar Slams Current Political Chaos in Nepal

Nepali singer Jyoti Magar has stirred a fresh debate on social media with a provocative Facebook post, sharply contrasting the nation's historical movements with the current political and social climate.

In her post, the often-controversial singer asserts her rights as a Nepali citizen, declaring that all major past movements—including the struggles against Rana rule, the Panchayat system, the Maoist insurgency (Janayuddha), and the movement against the Monarchy—were genuine revolutions aimed at systemic change and securing the rights of the Nepali people.

Critique of the Present
However, Magar draws a clear and stark line when it comes to the present situation in the country. She categorically states:

"But what is happening today is not a revolution; it is anarchy and sheer chaos (भाड भैलो)."

She uses a famous Nepali saying to mock the current state of affairs: "'Kids came, played with slingshots, and ruined the backyard.' She sarcastically compares these activities to an 'item song' from the movie Rato Ghar.

The singer concluded her post with a scathing, sarcastic challenge, daring the "true patriots"—whom she describes as those who wrap themselves in the national flag while burning the country—to unleash their anger upon her.
