Durga Prasai Warns: “If Parliament Is Reinstated, the Country Will Be Pushed Toward Civil War”

Kathmandu — Social activist Durga Prasai has warned that reinstating the dissolved parliament would push Nepal toward civil war and division. He issued this warning through a public appeal addressed to the justices of the Supreme Court.
In a Facebook post, Prasai wrote, “If the parliament is reinstated, the country will certainly be driven toward civil war and division.
The sacrifices of the 76 youths, thousands of injured citizens, and the destruction of heritage sites like the Supreme Court and Singha Durbar will all be in vain.”
He argued that the reinstatement would betray those who fought against corruption and injustice, claiming that “corrupt leaders, smugglers, brokers, and middlemen” would rise again.
Prasai further announced plans to launch a nationwide movement against the current constitution and system after the upcoming Chhath festival.
He also appealed to the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, civil servants, and general citizens to support and participate in the movement.
