Durga Prasai Announces Indefinite Nationwide Strike, Refutes Deportation Rumors from India
KATHMANDU— Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the "National Campaign to Save Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens," has announced a nationwide indefinite general strike (Aam Hadtaal) commencing on November 23 (Mangsir 7).
In a definitive social media post, Prasai called upon supporters to remain resolute on the path of truth and patriotism, characterizing the upcoming agitation as a "holy campaign for the protection of our Vedic Sanatan Dharma, the reinstatement of a Hindu State, and the reawakening of National Pride."
He further declared this to be "Nepal's final decisive battle," a fight from which "an era of permanent peace and unity will begin."
Prasai emphasized that the movement is not under the patronage of any foreign power, but will rather be a "symbol of our national pride, self-reliance, and independence."
The post also served as a clear repudiation of recent online news reports suggesting that he had been deported from India.
Prasai stated that the news with the headline that he would be deported by India was a "cultivation of lies" by the online media, and to counter this falsehood, he himself traveled to India via Tribhuvan International Airport on Nepal Airlines. He concluded by asserting that his action sufficiently proves the deceitful nature of the online reports.
