Nepal Government Intensifies Efforts for Safe Release of Hostage Bipin Joshi in Israel
Kathmandu, 18 August: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has affirmed that the Government of Nepal is actively working to secure the safe and swift release of Bipin Joshi, who was taken hostage by the Hamas group in Israel. He emphasized through social media that ensuring Joshi’s release is a government responsibility, and all possible measures are being undertaken.
“The government is prioritizing Bipin’s safety and is fully engaged in efforts to secure his release. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is maintaining continuous communication through our embassies in the Gulf region,” Prime Minister Oli stated.
He also highlighted that the Nepalese government stands firmly with Bipin’s family. “In coordination with our embassy in Israel, Bipin’s mother, Padma, and sister, Pushpa, met with President Isaac Herzog and Speaker of Parliament Amir Ohana to request action for his release,” he said. “Previously, I had drawn attention to this matter and held phone discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Chait 7 (march 20) and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil on Falgun 28 (March 12), both of whom are engaged in peace efforts in the Middle East.”
Prime Minister Oli also expressed gratitude to the Nepalese and local citizens, journalists, security personnel, and social activists assisting in Israel.
