Actor Bijay Baral Injured During Filming of ‘Sindhure Jatra’

Kathmandu — Lead actor Bijay Baral has been injured during the shooting of the film ‘Sindhure Jatra’. He sustained injuries to the wrist joint of his right hand after falling from a horse during filming.

The movie’s shooting had begun on Jestha 1 in Aathar Dandakharka of Kusma Municipality in Parbat district. After completing a 15-day schedule, Baral met with the accident on Wednesday while riding a horse for a scene when he suddenly lost balance and fell.

According to the production team, his right hand has been fractured. He was immediately taken to Kusma and then referred to Pokhara for further treatment. Doctors confirmed a fracture in the wrist joint of his right hand, after which a plaster was applied.

Following the injury of the main actor, the film’s shooting has been completely halted for now. Director Saroj Poudel said that the film originally had a 35-day shooting schedule. However, due to this unexpected incident, the entire team, including the cast, has returned to Kathmandu.

Director Poudel stated, “Bijay’s health is our top priority. According to medical advice, he needs complete rest for at least 35 to 40 days. Therefore, the remaining shoot will only resume after Asar 15.”

Actor Bijay Baral said, “An accident happened suddenly while working. The schedule of the team has been affected for some time. I am currently under doctors’ supervision and will return to work after a few weeks of rest.”

He also hinted that the injury may cause minor changes in the shooting schedules of other films he is involved in.

‘Sindhure Jatra’ reunites director Saroj Poudel with actors Bijay Baral and Anjana Baraili for the second time. The same team previously worked together on ‘Purna Bahadurko Sarangi’, one of the most successful films in Nepali cinema history.

Produced under Sarangi Films, the film stars Bijay Baral, Anjana Baraili, and Binod Neupane in lead roles.

The screenplay is written by Sabin Adhikari and Basanta Neupane, with the story by director Poudel himself. The film is being distributed by RR Films, with OSR Digital as its digital partner.sindure-jaatra-(2)-1780214454.jpeg
