Activist Durga Prasai Welcomes 'Cut' in Nepali UN Peacekeepers, Demands Minimum 1 Lakh Salary for All Civil Servants

Kathmandu. Social activist and businessman Durga Prasai has expressed strong satisfaction over the purported news that the United Nations (UN) is reducing the deployment of Nepali peacekeepers, saying the move is a reason for "great happiness."
Following this claim, he renewed his persistent demand for a minimum monthly salary of Rs 100,000 for all state employees in Nepal.Taking to Facebook, Prasai argued that the alleged reduction in UN deployment is a sign that not only the Nepali Army, but all Nepalis abroad, should return to their own country.
He emphasized the need for national self-reliance."I received the special news that the UN has cut the number of peacekeepers from Nepal, and this has brought me great joy today. Now, not just the Nepali Army, but all Nepalis must return to their own country, and we must learn lessons from others to build our own self-reliant nation," Prasai wrote in his post.
He connected this sentiment directly to his long-standing financial demands for state workers, stating, "That is why I have repeatedly raised the demand that the salary for all public servants, including the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, should be a minimum of Rs 1 Lakh.
"Prasai concluded his message with a philosophical note: "Sooner or later, everyone must return to the motherland, and everyone must die one day."
