Interaction and Panel Discussion Held on the 37th Foundation Day of Nepal Film Artists Association

Kathmandu — On the second day of the 37th Foundation Day of the Nepal Film Artists Association, an interaction and panel discussion program was held on Sunday at the hall of the Film Development Board in the capital.

Actor Rajesh Hamal, attending as the chief speaker, shared his 36-year-long acting journey and emphasized the need to accept changes that come with the audience’s mindset and time. He discussed the transformation in audience mentality over each decade and noted that the current global technological revolution presents both new challenges and opportunities for the film industry.

Similarly, Dinesh DC, Chairperson of the Film Development Board, presented the board’s current plans and work review while praising Hamal’s contribution to protecting Nepali cinema and creating employment. He stated there is no dispute in calling Hamal a “superstar,” adding, “Without worrying about whether he is a director, producer, or technician, he continuously worked, providing employment to many and helping save films even in times of crisis.”

Mohan Niraula, President of the Nepal Film Artists Association and distinguished artist, served as the facilitator. On the occasion, Samir Balami, President of the Film Journalists Association, highlighted how an artist’s speech and behavior can influence the audience. Analyst and director Dr. Ghanshyam Khatri shared his views on the importance of language in films.

Actress Anjana Baraili shared her experience of not facing any harassment when entering the film industry and encouraged new female artists by saying, “There is no reason to be afraid; move forward with confidence.”

The program was hosted by Gopal Dhakal, with actor Sabin Shrestha serving as coordinator and director Devendra Pandey handling management. President Niraula expressed the association’s commitment to always collaborate for the development of the film sector.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Film Development Board, saw remarkable participation from veteran artists and technicians. On the first day, a tree-planting program had been held in Bhandarkhal, Kathmandu.
