16 Children Rescued from India Handed Over to Families in Madhesh Province

Sixteen children engaged in hazardous labor in various states of India were rescued and handed over to their families today under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare of Madhesh Province. The rescued children are aged between 9 and 17 years and hail from the districts of Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha, Rautahat, and Saptari.

The rescued boys include:

Mahottari, Jaleshwar Municipality, Ward No. 6: Vikas Kumar Mahato (14), Krishna Sada (17), Ravi Sada (14), Vikas Sada (12), Vivek Sada (12).

Mahottari, Samsi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 6: Ravi Thakur (9).

Other rescued boys are:

Dhanusha, Shahidnagar Municipality, Ward No. 1: Vivek Sada (12), Karan Sada (13).

Dhanushadham Municipality, Ward No. 11: Rohit Sada (12), Surat Kumar Sada (12).

Rautahat: Mugle Aazam (15).

Saptari, Dakneshwari: Jeet Kumar Pandit (14).

Siraha: Samir Kumar Bhujel (14), Saugat Bayalkoti (12).

Mount Everest climber and active campaigner against child marriage, Kalpana Maharjan, has also joined the campaign against human trafficking and rescue work as the Global Brand Ambassador for Kin India (K.I.N. India).

The children, who had reached Mumbai, Delhi, and Bihar in India from various districts of Madhesh Province, were rescued by the organization Kin India with the assistance of the Indian Police.

Similarly, two girls aged 15 and 16 from Saptari district, who were forced into sexual exploitation, were also rescued and handed over to their guardians.

Naveen Joshi, President of Kin India, stated that a large number of children from Madhesh Province are being taken to India and involved in businesses such as screen trading, kidney extraction, and sexual exploitation, emphasizing the urgent need to raise awareness in the province.

The reunification of these children, who were brought to Janakpurdham with the support of Rotary Club Lumbini, was carried out today.

Ranjit Kumar Yadav, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare of Madhesh Province, mentioned that efforts will be made to provide employment to the rescued children by involving them in education and skill-based training.

He also informed that the Madhesh Province Government has initiated the process of constructing long-term rehabilitation centers and 'safe houses' in every district for such children.

Kin India, in collaboration with Shanti Shikshya Abhiyan Nepal, has also launched an awareness program against human trafficking within Nepal.bharat-bata-udar-1761882695.jpg
