World Tiger Day Being Celebrated

Today, World Tiger Day is being celebrated. In Nepal, the day is also being marked with various programs.
This day has been celebrated since 2010, following the declaration made at the International Tiger Forum held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, to observe World Tiger Day every year on July 29.
The day is celebrated with a focus on conserving tiger habitats for their protection, raising public awareness about the decline in tiger populations, highlighting conservation issues, and appreciating and encouraging efforts made toward tiger conservation.
