Third 'World Peace Program' to be Held in Lumbini
The third 'World Peace Program' is set to be held in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, from Mangsir 24 to 26.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the organizers announced that 25 billionaires from various countries are expected to arrive in Lumbini to participate in this year's event.
The program is anticipated to bring together over 10,000 participants for the first time on a single visit to Nepal, including UN cultural ambassadors, global business leaders, scholars, artists, youth, community representatives, and a delegation of 25 billionaires from the Fortune Generation.
According to the organizers, participants will include Dr. Sureshkumar Madhusudhan, Chairman of Seagull International Group (Kerala, India); Lojze Peterle, the first Prime Minister of independent Slovenia and former Member of the European Parliament; Tamrat Layne, former Prime Minister of Ethiopia; and Dr. Siddeek Ahmed of Eram Holdings, who conducts business in the UAE and India.
The three-day event will feature discussions and debates on topics such as peace, climate change, development, internal well-being and social justice, practical peacebuilding, daily leadership, and youth focus on local governance.
Additionally, a major deep arpan (lamp lighting) ceremony will take place at the Ramagrama Stupa on December 12, where thousands of lamps and prayers for peace will illuminate the night sky.
