Capacity Building Training for Women Tourism Entrepreneurs Begins in Pokhara
Pokhara: A capacity building training for tourism entrepreneurs, organized by the Tourism Entrepreneurs Women’s Association Nepal (TEWAN), commenced in Pokhara on Monday. The three-day training is being held with the support of the Nepal Tourism Board.
On the first day of the training, Dr. Arati Regmi facilitated a session on personality development, where she presented on physical and mental health.
According to training coordinator Meena Baral, Samir Baral will provide training on business promotion and branding, and Bijay Kumal will cover digital marketing on the second day, Tuesday. On the final day, Wednesday, SP Navin Karki, Chief of Kaski Police, will facilitate a session on cybercrime and online fraud awareness.
Inaugurating the training, Maniraj Lamichhane, Senior Director of the Nepal Tourism Board’s Pokhara office, stated that investments in training should contribute to business promotion. He expressed commitment to allocating budgets for other areas based on the needs of empowering women tourism entrepreneurs.
DSP Nawaraj Bhattarai, Chief of the Ward Police Office Baidam, expressed hope that the training would clarify measures to avoid cybercrime, which is currently on the rise. Narayan Prasad Subedi, Secretary of the Pokhara Tourism Council, urged participants to benefit from the training and apply the knowledge to their professional lives.
Lucky Karki Chhetri, founding president of TEWAN, mentioned that such training is fruitful because business success is only possible when one is physically and mentally healthy.
Shobha Neupane Pandey, President of TEWAN, said she expects the training to achieve its intended results. She noted that while the Tourism Board has supported capacity building, it is now necessary to allocate a budget for women entrepreneurs for tourism promotion as well.
The program, conducted by the organization’s General Secretary Shobha Adhikari Paudel, included an overview of the training's objectives provided by coordinator Meena Baral.
