Weather Update: Partial Influence of Western Low-Pressure System Across Nepal
Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that a western low-pressure system is currently having a partial influence over the country.
According to the department, this afternoon the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country will remain fully cloudy, while the remaining hilly areas and the Tarai will experience partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate snowfall and rainfall at a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions.
Moderate rainfall is likely at some places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Light rainfall is expected at a few places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces, and at one or two places in the Tarai of Koshi Province.
Similarly, tonight the hilly and mountainous regions will experience partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country will have generally clear weather. There is a chance of light snowfall and rainfall at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The department has urged everyone concerned to remain alert, as snowfall and rainfall may affect daily life, tourism, health services, as well as air and road transportation.
