Weather Update: Mixed Conditions Across Nepal Under Westerly Winds

Kathmandu – Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds. According to the Hydrology and Meteorology Department’s Weather Forecasting Division, there is partial cloud cover over the mountainous and hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as other remaining Himalayan areas, while the rest of the country is experiencing mainly clear weather.

According to the Division, some places in the Terai region are likely to experience morning fog today. The Himalayan regions will generally see cloudy conditions, while the hilly regions will have partial cloud cover. The weather in the Terai region will remain mostly clear. 

There is a possibility of light rainfall and snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Bagmati provinces, and at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces.

Similarly, tonight, some places in the Terai region are expected to experience mist. Partial cloud cover is likely in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country will have clear weather. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The Division has urged residents of areas forecast to experience fog, mist, and snowfall, as well as those operating vehicles and carrying out daily activities in those regions, to exercise caution.
