Weather Forecast: Fog in Terai and Possibility of Light Snowfall in Hilly Regions

Kathmandu, January 2: As the partial influence of western winds continues across the country, most places in the Terai region will experience fog and mist this afternoon, while some provinces will see partly cloudy skies, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Currently, most parts of the Terai are covered in fog. According to the Division, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will remain generally cloudy this afternoon, while the rest of the regions will be partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, as well as light snowfall in some places of the high-hilly and mountainous regions.

Similarly, tonight, the hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will remain partly cloudy, while the weather will be mainly clear in the rest of the regions. There is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high-hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Fog will persist in some parts of the Terai.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned that the impact of fog in the Terai region may partially affect daily life, health, and road transport. The Division has requested the general public to adopt necessary precautions and to stay informed by following the daily updated weather information.
