Partial Influence of Westerly Winds Brings Rain and Snow in Parts of Nepal

Kathmandu: Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds. According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, this afternoon the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces are expected to be generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of light snowfall and rainfall at a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki Province. 

Additionally, there is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the remaining areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Similarly, tonight the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, along with other Himalayan areas, will generally remain cloudy, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy. 

Moderate snowfall and rainfall are likely at a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Light snowfall and rainfall are also possible at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces.

Furthermore, there is a possibility of moderate rainfall at a few places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, and light rainfall at a few places in the Terai regions. 

Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely at a few places in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
