Western Wind Influence, Terai Fog, and High-Altitude Precipitation
Kathmandu. There is a prevailing influence of western winds throughout the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will remain mostly clear across most of the country today, though partial cloud cover is expected in the high hilly and mountainous regions. Many areas in the Terai are currently experiencing fog.
During the afternoon, fog and mist will persist across most locations in the Terai region. While the high hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces will see partial cloud cover, the weather in the remaining regions will stay mostly clear.
Additionally, the Division has noted a possibility of light rain or snowfall in one or two spots within the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
At night, fog will remain prevalent across many parts of the Terai. Partial cloud cover will continue in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country will experience mostly clear weather.
