Increasing Cold in Kathmandu Valley and Across Nepal
Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a significant rise in cold across the Kathmandu Valley, noting that the valley has experienced its coldest temperatures of the year so far.
According to the updated data released by the Department on Monday morning, the temperature in Kirtipur was recorded at 3.0°C. Similarly, Khumaltar in Lalitpur and Nagarkot in Bhaktapur both recorded temperatures of 2.8°C, while Chautara in Sindhupalchok recorded 5.5°C.
In the mountain regions, temperatures have dropped below freezing. Lukla Airport recorded a temperature of -0.5°C, Jumla Airport reached -5.9°C, and Simkot Airport in Humla recorded -5.1°C.
