20 Ugandan Women Arrested in Thamel for Illegal Solicitation
KATHMANDU – Police have arrested 20 Ugandan female nationals from the Thamel area for allegedly operating an illegal sex trade and harassing domestic and foreign tourists in public spaces.
The police team was deployed following tip-offs that certain individuals were illegally bargaining for money and conducting sexual solicitation in public, causing significant distress to pedestrians and tourists. During a surveillance and sting operation at Thamel Firechok (Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26), the women were caught obstructing the path of male passersby and bargaining for obscene activities.

- NAKATO BENANKANJKO (36)

- NATTU KASITA (42)

All the women are currently residing in Thamel, Kathmandu. Following their arrest, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has granted a 12-day remand to keep them in custody for further investigation.
