Two Youths Arrested for Sloganeering at Maitighar; Dr. Bhusal Absent Amid Tight Security
Kathmandu. In the midst of heightened tension following Dr. Nicholas Bhusal's social media announcement to stage a protest at Maitighar Mandala at 2 PM today, police have taken two young men into custody for chanting slogans.
Security was significantly stepped up, with a heavy deployment of security personnel at Maitighar Mandala, after reports emerged that Bhusal's group planned to demonstrate and workers from various political parties intended to block them.
However, Dr. Nicholas Bhusal, who had publicly declared he would lead the protest, did not appear at Maitighar at the scheduled time. Despite his absence, the two youths were arrested for shouting slogans in the area where security arrangements were already very tight. The police stated that the arrests were made to maintain peace and order.
