Two Technicians Rescued Alive from Trishuli-3 'A' Tunnel, Search Intensifies for Others

Kathmandu. Two employees have been rescued alive from inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 'A' Hydropower Project, which was obstructed due to floods and landslides. The rescue team safely brought out the two trapped individuals while clearing debris and mud from the tunnel.

Those rescued alive are Sanjay Shah, a mechanical foreman working at the project, and Kabir Maharjan, a mechanical supervisor. Immediately after the rescue, they are being brought to Kathmandu for preliminary health checks and further medical treatment.

Security personnel and technicians involved in the rescue operation stated that information has been received indicating other individuals are still trapped inside the tunnel. A joint team of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and project technicians is actively intensifying the search and rescue operations for those remaining inside.
