Shinta Mani Mustang Named the World’s Top Luxury Resort

The prestigious international luxury lifestyle magazine, Robb Report, has released its list of the 50 Best Luxury Hotels in the World for 2026.

In this year's list, Shinta Mani Mustang, located in Nepal's Himalayan district of Mustang, secured the number one spot as the world's best hotel. Outperforming world-renowned historic hotels, resorts, and safari camps across the globe, the Mustang resort established itself as the ultimate luxury destination.

Situated on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, the resort was conceptualized by the famous "maximalist" designer Bill Bensley. Constructed using traditional Baglung slate/stone, the building features 29 suite rooms offering breathtaking views of peaks such as Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri.

Travel experts have described it as a supreme sanctuary for the peace of body, mind, and soul. Guests staying here are required to book a minimum five-night stay, allowing tourists to fully immerse themselves in Mustang's nature and culture and feel completely refreshed.

Visitors to Shinta Mani Mustang can enjoy activities such as Himalayan trekking, horseback riding, and traditional archery. Key attractions also include visits to the 800-year-old Lubra Village, studies of Bon Buddhism, and traditional Tibetan medical practices (Amchi) available directly at the resort.

Compared to the Everest region, this area has a lower population density and is exceptionally quiet, making it a preferred choice for high-net-worth global travelers seeking solitude and authenticity. Robb Report compiled the list based on the recommendations and firsthand experiences of 24 world-renowned travel experts. Nepal's resort scored the highest based on key evaluation criteria: quality of service, management, location, and authenticity.

Taking second place on the list was Singita Kwitonda in Rwanda, followed by Hope Lodge in Scotland in third. Park Hyatt Tokyo in Japan secured fourth place, while Shakti 360 Leti in India came in fifth.

Mustang, Nepal receiving such an immense global honor has added fresh enthusiasm to the Nepali tourism sector. It strongly establishes Nepal's international identity not just as a hub for adventure trekking, but also as a top-tier global luxury travel destination.
