Supreme Court to Hear 16 Petitions Against House of Representatives Dissolution Starting Today
The Supreme Court is set to begin hearings on 16 writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) starting today.
According to Arjun Prasad Koirala, spokesperson for the Supreme Court, the initial hearing will take place on the writs that demand the annulment of the Prime Minister's appointment and the dissolution of the Parliament, as well as an order (such as Utprekhan and Paramadesh) for the reinstatement of the Parliament.
Spokesperson Koirala confirmed that the Constitutional Bench will hold a joint hearing on all 16 writ petitions.
Where the Hearing Will Take Place
The spokesperson further informed that the Constitutional Bench will convene in the old room on the upper floor of the ‘Annex Building’, which is adjacent to the main Supreme Court building.
