Supreme Court Begins Hearing on Writs Against House of Representatives Dissolution
The Supreme Court has initiated the hearing on the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).
A Constitutional Bench has been formed in the Supreme Court to hear the petitions. The bench, led by Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, includes Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, Kumar Regmi, Hari Prasad Phuyal, and Manoj Kumar Sharma.
The preliminary hearing on this significant case began today.
President Ram Chandra Paudel dissolved the House of Representatives on Bhadra 27 (September 12) upon the recommendation of the interim government.
The interim government was formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, and it was her government that subsequently recommended the dissolution of the HoR.
