Social Security Day Celebration in Nepal

Kathmandu. The Eighth Social Security Day is being celebrated across the country today with the slogan, "Social Security: Access to Universal Health Service, Pensionable Society, and Protection of Citizens' Lives with Increased Productivity."

Social Security Day is celebrated every year on the 11th of Mangsir to commemorate the day when the contribution-based social security program was announced eight years ago, under the core mantra, "Social Security and Employment: The Foundation of Good Labor Relations."

With the objective of implementing the fundamental right to social security guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal, the government officially announced the contribution-based social security scheme on Mangsir 11, 2075 BS.

The fund, established with the goal of ensuring the right to contribution-based social security for workers and providing necessary protection to contributors, has been operating this program. 

According to the fund, its programs are moving forward with objectives such as including all workers in the scheme, minimizing economic and social risks, and embodying the concept of universal social security. Additionally, Social Security Day is being celebrated across the country today.
