Sixth Slow Bike Competition in Nepalgunj to Reduce Increasing Road Accidents

January 8, 2026

A slow bike competition is set to be held in Nepalgunj to raise awareness for reducing the increasing number of road accidents.

The sixth edition of the slow bike competition, which BAS Nepal has been continuously organizing for the past five years, will take place in Nepalgunj on January 11.

The competition, held in collaboration with the Traffic Police Office, will be conducted on New Road, Nepalgunj. The participant who covers the designated 100-meter distance in the most time, or at the slowest speed, will be the winner.

Participants securing the first, second, and third positions will receive 15,000, 10,000, and 5,000 rupees respectively, along with certificates.

The competition aims to raise awareness for reducing road accidents and to encourage people to drive at limited speeds by following traffic rules, with collaboration from various agencies.

As the younger generation is frequently falling victim to daily accidents due to high-speed driving, the competition is expected to spread the message to the general public that driving at a slow speed can prevent the terrifying situation of accidents.

Management has been arranged so that participants can register their names online or by visiting the office. BAS has appealed to everyone to show solidarity in reducing road accidents by participating. The competition is scheduled to be held on Sunday, January 11, at 1:00 PM.
