Situation Tense in Simara, Bara: Airport Closed After Clash
The situation in Simara, Bara, has become tense. A dispute and subsequent clash erupted over the arrival of CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet.
The two CPN-UML leaders were scheduled to land in Simara at 11:00 AM this morning from Kathmandu.
Simara Airport was closed after a clash occurred between CPN-UML workers, who had gathered near the canteen at the main entrance gate of the airport to welcome the leaders, and the Gen Z group.
The Gen Z group, who are protesting, have burned tires on the road, and their demonstration is ongoing. The clash between the protestors and CPN-UML workers has led to a tense situation in the area.
The Gen Z protestors are continuing their demonstration by burning tires right in front of the road leading into Simara Airport.
The police have warned the demonstrators not to protest and to clear the public road. However, the protest on the road is reported to be continuing.
