Shankar Group Donates Rs 4 Crore for Bhotekoshi Flood Victims

Kathmandu. Shankar Group, a prominent business house in Nepal, donated Rs 4 crore to the government last Wednesday for the relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.

Deepa Agrawal, Director of the group, handed over the check for the support amount to the Finance Minister. The sum was contributed to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund with the objective of providing immediate assistance to the affected families during this difficult time of natural disaster.

In addition to financial aid, Shankar Group actively led relief efforts in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs during the initial stage of the disaster. On the third day of the disaster, 2,500 tarpaulin tents worth Rs 25 lakh were provided through the Chief District Officer of Rupandehi to arrange safe shelter for displaced families. 

The group expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster. Furthermore, it extended high respect and gratitude for the contributions of security agencies, civil servants, and local organizations working day and night in rescue and relief efforts during these difficult circumstances.
