Seven Arrested in Birgunj for Stealing and Selling Oil from Tankers

Birgunj: Police have arrested seven individuals along with tankers for their involvement in illegally stealing and selling petroleum products from a tanker along the Bypass road section in Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa.

According to the police, the suspects were caught on Thursday evening at around 5:10 PM at Saudagar Oil Center in Birgunj-14 while illegally extracting oil from a petroleum tanker (registration no. Na 7 Kha 1539) using an iron pipe hook to lift the seal. The tanker had entered Nepal via the Integrated Check Post (ICP) from India.

Those arrested include 55-year-old oil center operator Sunain Miya, 23-year-old accounts staff Aslam Hawari, 21-year-old cashier Rafik Miya, 46-year-old driver Keshar Ram Sunar and 20-year-old co-driver Sandesh Rana Magar of tanker Na 7 Kha 2804, along with 50-year-old driver Manda Singh Lama and 27-year-old co-driver Umesh Rana Magar of tanker Na 7 Kha 1539.

Police stated that the tankers involved in the incident have been taken into custody, and further investigation is currently underway.
