Special Screening of ‘Satidevi’ in Virginia This Saturday

Kathmandu, Aug 12 — The Nepali women-centric film Satidevi will have a special screening this Saturday (Shrawan 31/Aug 16) in Virginia, USA. Organized on the occasion of the grand festival of Teej, the event aims to honor women and promote Nepali art and culture.
Organizer Pushkar Panta, a long-time resident of the United States who is also active in Nepali film production, acting, and social service, said that Satidevi was chosen for its authentic and family-oriented storyline. The film has already won more than a dozen prestigious awards, including the Special Film Award at the National Film Awards 2080, organized by the Film Development Board of Nepal.
Written, produced, and directed by Laxman Subedi, Satidevi stars Malika Mahat, Ramesh Budhathoki, Sandip Babu Lohani, Kul Bahadur Adhikari, Srijana Adhikari, child artist Harshika oli, and Manjila Baniya. The film is presented by Dilasha Creation in collaboration with Golden State Movie Makers LLC, California, and produced by Dilasha, Sara, Sridevi, and Bishal Subedi.
According to director Subedi, after the Virginia event, special screenings of Satidevi will also be held in other U.S. states.
