Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik Creates Santa Claus Using 1,500 kg of Apples
World-famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a unique sculpture of Santa Claus on a beach in Odisha, India, for Christmas Eve. Using over 1,500 kg (1.5 tons) of apples, the artist crafted a bright red Santa to spread a message of world peace.
The massive creation measures approximately 60 feet in length and 45 feet in width. Visitors who saw the sculpture, which took Pattnaik and his team a long time to complete, called it a "miracle."
This is not the first time the artist has experimented with different materials. Last year, Pattnaik made a Santa Claus sculpture using chocolate and sand. That creation earned a place in the India Book of Records as the world's largest chocolate and sand installation.
