'Sahu Ba': A New Era of Action and Revenge in Nepali Web Series
Kathmandu. Amidst the ongoing wave of web series on Nepali digital platforms, a new series has successfully captured the special attention of viewers. Produced jointly by Music Nepal and Frame in Motion, the web series 'Sahu Ba' has sparked discussions regarding its storyline and production quality since its release.
Broadcast weekly on the official YouTube channel of Music Nepal Entertainment, two episodes of the series have been released so far. These episodes are receiving positive feedback from the audience.
Specifically centered on themes of 'crime, action, and revenge,' 'Sahu Ba' has managed to grab the audience's attention through its grand canvas and action sequences.
The most discussed aspect of 'Sahu Ba' is the size of its cast. For perhaps the first time in the history of Nepali web series, more than 380 actors have performed in it. The series features established artists from Nepali cinema and theater, including Priyanka Karki, Kabita Nepali, Biju Parki, Sarita Giri, Namrata Shrestha, Amit Shah, Amit Giri, Priyanka Chaudhary, Hina Nagarkoti, Bimal Puri, Ramesh Adhikari, Pradeep Bastola, and Krishna Bhakta Mahajan.
The initial two episodes have clearly established the series' themes of crime, action, and revenge. The story begins with illegal cross-border trade and the manipulation of wealth. In the first episode, a major road accident and the resulting suspense keep the viewers hooked.
Biju Parki appears as the lead character of the series. In the visuals, he is presented as a struggling young man burning with a desire for vengeance. A scene showing a paper airplane in blood-stained hands hints at a deep childhood wound or memory, suggesting the series also possesses emotional depth.
While there are often complaints that Nepali series get bogged down in long dialogues, 'Sahu Ba' breaks this tradition by prioritizing 'cinematic action.' Fire, modern weaponry, street chase sequences, and mysterious events inside a hospital provide plenty of thrills.
Directed and written by Sujoy Yong, the production team spent nearly three years preparing the total 24 episodes of 'Sahu Ba.'
The cinematography is handled by Ayushman Joshi, Sangam Rai, and Anish Tamang, with Ram Prasad Chaudhary serving as the editor. Featuring songs by Sagar Ale, Mr. D, and Ujan Shakya, the series' stunts are directed by Pema Lama and Raju Tamang.
'Sahu Ba' is released every week after 6 PM on the Music Nepal Entertainment YouTube channel. Additionally, for viewers who wish to watch all episodes at once, every part has been made available on the MOMO app.-1777197623.jpg)
