Story of Educational Hardships of a Poor Family in the Teaser of ‘Roll No. 1’

Kathmandu. The teaser for the movie ‘Roll No. 1’, produced by Binod Paudel, was released today. The production team made the teaser public through YouTube.

The teaser depicts the story of the dreams and hopes of ordinary people that can be snatched away in an instant, much like the weather. It captures the dream a father envisions for his son's happiness by sacrificing his own needs, and presents the despair that follows when that dream remains unfulfilled.

The trailer poignantly covers the compulsion of having to rely solely on scholarships for education and the grief that follows when they are lost. It portrays the reality of how a society, bound by the pressure to excel in studies just for social prestige, is being deprived of government scholarships.

The teaser attempts to show the bitter truth of how the poor community is being deprived of education due to government rules requiring one to be first in class to receive a scholarship. It reveals how a family places its desires, aspirations, and hopes on a son, and the reality of how it affects the child's psychology when he cannot succeed despite his best efforts.

The teaser indicates that this movie tells the story of the majority of poor Nepalis.

Produced by Binod Paudel, the producer of the famed ‘Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi’, ‘Roll No. 1’ will tell the story of student psychology. This cinema covers the negative impact the current educational system has on child psychology and the subsequent effect on their overall life.
