Rimai’ Teaser Unveiled: A Mysterious and Emotional Nepali Film Set to Hit Theaters
Kathmandu — The much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Rimai’, directed by Khil Bahadur Gurung, has officially released its teaser. The nearly two-minute teaser, launched on Tuesday, hints at a story that blends mystery, thrill, and deep emotion. Alongside the teaser release, the production team has also announced that the film’s release date has been moved up by a week. Initially scheduled to premiere on Bhadra 27, ‘Rimai’ will now be released nationwide on Bhadra 20.
The teaser showcases a rural setting infused with local culture, love, pain, and revenge. Dayahang Rai delivers a serious and gripping performance, Rishma Gurung brings warmth and authenticity, Arpan Thapa plays a mysterious character, and Buddhi Tamang’s deep portrayal has also caught viewers' attention.
Through its cinematography, dialogues, and editing, the teaser presents a raw and realistic reflection of society. The tense scenes shown toward the end suggest that conflict and suspense will play a significant role in the story. Highlighting Gurung traditions and lifestyle, the teaser has successfully generated excitement among audiences, according to the production team.
Produced under the banner of Gorkha Siranchowk and Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment, ‘Rimai’ features performances by Gaumaya Gurung, Kavita Ale Magar, Mao Tse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Bir Maya Gurung, Birbal Ghale, DB Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar.
The film is written by Upendra Subba and shot by acclaimed cinematographer Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Birbal Ghale serves as the executive producer, while Tika Gurung, Jeet Yatri Gurung, and Duna Bahadur Ghale are the main producers. Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire have contributed as co-producers.
‘Rimai’ features music composed by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam. Kiran Chamling Rai is the chief assistant director, Bishnu Mainali is the production manager, and Mitra D. Gurung has handled the editing.
With its strong teaser and culturally rich storyline, ‘Rimai’ is expected to leave a lasting impression on the Nepali film industry.
